An annual event the world looks forward to is the Annual Grammy Awards; the 61st Grammy Award which took place at the Staples Center, California on the 10th of February, 2019 is one that has people talking all over the world. It was an eventful event from the host; the Alicia Keys, to the presence of the former First Lady of the United States which was a pleasant surprise to all, and numerous nominations and wins.
Definitely, the past year (October 1, 2017 to September 30, 2018) was a great year in the music industry for both old and new artists; most especially artists with numerous nominations like Kendrick Lamar who had the most nomination, Kacey Musgraves and Childish Gambino with the most wins (four awards each) and Dolly Parton who was honored as the MusiCares Person of the Year two days prior to the Grammy Awards on the 8th of February, 2019.
It was delightful having various greatly loved artists perform songs that moved the multitudes at the Staples Center and even beyond. The likes of Alicia Keys; the host, Camilla Cabello, Young Thug, Cardi B; whose award has caused a stir amongst Cardi B and Nicki Minaj fans around the world, Jennifer Lopez, Ne-Yo, Travis Scott, Lady Gaga and even Dua Lipa who won the Best New Artist Award, just to mention a few.
It is highly enthralling that our favorite tracks and albums made it to the nominations, some of which were awarded; one of which is Cardi B who won her first Grammy award for her album “Invasion of Privacy” which was voted as the Best Rap Album. Cardi B who debuted her entertainment career in the year 2015 as one of the cast of the VH1 reality television series Love& Hip Hop: New York, debuting in season six; has ever since been on a roll on her way to stardom through being both a TV Personality and an exceptional rapper whom majority thought to have the same or otherwise, similar skillset with Nicki Minaj who has been a world known rapper since her debut in 2010 with the Young Money Entertainment.
Cardi B winning a Grammys before Nicki Minaj has caused controversial tongue wagging amongst fans of both successful rappers. While both rappers have been rivals from the get-go, the rivalry exploded between both in 2018 where a physical altercation at the New York Fashion Show took place.
Meanwhile, Nicki Minaj reportedly stated that she has never won a Grammy Award because she pissed off Grammy producer KEN and has ever since been bullied to stay quiet for 7 years out of fear.
The ripple effect of Cardi B winning a Grammy ahead of Nicki snowballed into BET tweeting about Cardi’s win while backlashing Nicki who has been an avid supporter of the BET; writing “Meanwhile Nicki Minaj is being dragged by her lacefront.”

Nicki’s devoted fan base rose in fury at the diss, which Nicki let them know she and her label would be pulling out of BET’s awards show this summer and the events around it.
