The highly anticipated Mobile World Conference has come to an
end but we are still enthralled by the events that took place at the MWC19. It was
indeed and educating and informative event; the mobile and technological world
is definitely advanced at a rapid rate.
While there are so many things that kept us up on our toes, we
can’t ignore the spectacular and huge announcements from major companies in the
smartphone space.
MWC18’s new device announcements were relatively small compared
to the MWC19’s major announcements. While last year’s Mobile World Congress had
major players vying for media attention and stayed away from the main reason
behind the Mobile World Congress which is informational deluge, this year’s
major player came with a new and huge deal and blows in various corners;
revealing the next big things in the mobile and tech world.
This year, the largest mobile expo was quite intriguing. Not only
were the annual mobile upgrades of famous phone brands and families welcomed,
there was a witness of major strides being made in 5G and baby steps of a brand
new form factor – the foldable phones. Not minding unironed caveats of the
first set of these devices, it is set to be the next big thing for the mobile
smartphone industry in years to come.
Mobile World Congress is without any major smartwatch or fitness
tracker for the second year in a row but, that’s okay. While the show was filled
with new top-end phones, the show featured odd wearable products such as the HoloLens
2 which is not set to be worn by millions of people around the world but is
targeted at a set of audience – the business audience.
While the Nubia Alpha wraps around your wrist, it is a device
that stands somewhere between being a smartwatch and a phone. Despite its being
an odd concept, it definitely wouldn’t replace the Apple Watch in months to
come.
Wearable sales are still growing worldwide as more and more
companies are embracing the space as time goes on. Companies are still forging
on in the smartwatch and fitness tracking markets but are pulling away from the
Mobile World Congress as wearables steadily further solidifies its own segment.
Due to the fact that high-end smartphones usually come with
high-spec camera which leads the user to believe that the quality of their
pictures will be good, many major players are beginning to adopt on-board
Artificial Intelligence chips as a necessity in high-end smartphones.
As the eventual average quality of photos go up, manufactures
are seeking ways to further improve the experience of taking pictures on mobile
phones. The advent of 5G technologies and the likes has created reasons for the
usage of on-board inference in Artificial Intelligence enabled devices.
Coming to an exciting conclusion, the Mobile World Congress
2019 sure did give a whole lot to look forward to in the future, because
technological advancement is about to get very interesting in coming years . we
also look forward to the MWC19 Los Angeles taking place on the 22nd
through 24th of October 2019.
