The MET Gala is always an event to look forward to because it is more or less a feast of fashion meals, so to say. The 2019 edition of the MET Gala has come and gone but the discussions hasn’t died down amongst folks. This year offered a whole lot of delectable fashion items in full display with iconic muses and “mannequins”.

In case this is your first time hearing about the MET Gala, let’s run it by you – the MET Gala is not an award show, not at all. Formally called the Costume Institute Gala and also known as the Met Ball is an annual fundraising gala for the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute in New York City. The MET Gala always marks the opening of the Costume Institute’s exhibition and the exhibition sets tone for the formal dress of the night, since the attendees are to dress to match the theme of the exhibit. The MET Gala is usually organized by VOGUE and has been chaired by Anna Wintour, the Editor-in-Chief of Vogue Magazine since 1995, excluding 1996 and 1998. Each year the Gala is held, there is a fashion theme for the night which celebrities and other exclusively invited guests comply with. Although, right from its inculcation, there was no theme for the night, but as the years went on and Diana Vreeland chaired the event, it became more glamorous, held at the Met for the first time and the themes came into play.

The theme for this year sure did bring many tongues wagging with oohs, aahs and naahs. With many celebrities dazzling us with iconic embodiments of fashion, we can say that the theme; Camp: Notes on Fashion, had fashion stylists and designers in their creative spots, cooking and spurning out beauties and extravagant pieces for dazzles.

This year’s Gala was co-chaired by Lady gaga, the belle of the Grammy Award winning movie- A Star is Born, who stunned and owned the red carpet with her confidence and style, strutting in her 4 in 1 piece designed by her longtime friend Brandon Maxwell, with one of her always dramatic and creative grand entrances; Serena Williams, an American Professional Tennis player, who was dressed in a yellow outfit by Versace, Harry Styles, an English singer, songwriter and actor, donned on a Gucci piece, and Alessandro Michelle, an Italian fashion designer appointed the Creative Director of Gucci in 2015.

We can’t but talk of Lady Gaga’s grand entrance and opening of the red carpet in her exuberant outfits, we also cannot overlook the fact that she had four outfit change on the red carpet at the Gala, all designed by her friend, Brandon Maxwell. Her first and second outfit are spectacularly spectacular and we can't keep from looking at them.
