Dental anarchy is taking place this year at CES. the American Dental affiliation (ADA) recommends that you brush your tooth twice a day for 2 minutes. however, what do those people know? The French organization FasTeesH says that you only require 10 seconds to properly clean your teeth. Of course, you have to use the organization's new toothbrush known as the Y-Brush.
Nicknamed the 10-seconds toothbrush, the Y-Brush is quite efficient in performance. instead of shifting the small head of an ordinary toothbrush from tooth-to-teeth, the Y-Brush cleans half of your mouth at a time.
The Y-Brush doesn't appear like the regular day to day toothbrush. rather it resembles a small mouthguard for sports. The Y-Brush's tray is laced with nylon bristles positioned at forty-five-degree angles -- the same angle the ADA recommends holding a "regular" toothbrush towards your gums. There are four different sized trays starting from ones for adults to smaller ones aimed toward children.
At the front of the brush tray is small handle with a large trapezoid-shaped motor that vibrates to clean your teeth. There are 3 unique vibration settings enabling you to find one it's most convenient for you. The handle and the tooth tray form a letter "Y" therefore the name.
To use the Y-Brush, you simply add toothpaste, position the Y-Brush in your mouth and flip the motor on. as the brushes vibrate, you can make a chewing motion for 5 seconds after which you remove it, turn the Y-Brush and repeat.
Sounds kind of great, right? whilst I did not get to try one at CES, I can see the potential. The Y-Brush is presently undergoing clinical trials, something not required for normal toothbrushes. Additionally, at the moment the Y-Brush has not been reviewed by way of the ADA in the US.
The Y-Brush comes at $125 which converts to £100 and AU$175, that is in the same ballpark at the cost of a premium electric toothbrush. It comes with a handle, a brush, a charging station, a storage pod, and a toothpaste applicator.
The Y-Brush is rechargeable and will last a month of use on a single charge.
You can presently preorder the Y-Brush with deliveries anticipated to start up in April 2019.
